Gloria is a board-certified coach and career development expert who specializes in helping mid- to senior-management professionals and executives better manage their careers.
BACKGROUND
In addition to her private practice, Gloria also has extensive experience in university career services. Most recently, she held the post of Vice President of Career Services at Colorado Technical University, an online school with multiple ground campuses serving nontraditional students. As a senior leader for this subsidiary of Career Education Corporation, she devised and oversaw a university-wide departmental transformation of its career services, resulting in improved outcomes and higher user-satisfaction ratings.
Gloria's first venture into providing career services within the higher education sector was as the Associate Director of Career and Corporate Alliances at The University of Chicago, where she helped address the career needs of its business school alumni, part-time, and executive MBA students. After more than three years in that role, she then moved on to serve as the MSC Career Development Services Consultant and Coach at Northwestern University. As an independent contractor for the MSC Program, Gloria founded and delivered program-supported career coaching and services for its post-graduate experienced-hire students and alumni.
Today, Gloria has returned to her independent consultancy, and as before, she provides career coaching and comprehensive career services to unemployed individuals in the midst of a job transition, as well as to those who are employed and looking for internal advancement or are on an external search outside of their present organization. In addition, she now also coaches those who coach others, and serves as a consultant to managers and administrators overseeing functional areas of career services, student services, alumni services, talent management, and volunteer management.
CREDENTIALS AND FORMAL EDUCATION
Gloria received her board certification in coaching, with a special designation in career coaching, from the Center for Credentialing Education (CCE), an affiliate of the National Board for Certified Counselors. She is also CCE-certified as a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) who trained through the UW-Madison's Center on Education and Work. Through the National Career Development Association, Gloria is certified and registered as a Facilitating Career Development (FCD) Instructor. A two-time graduate of Northwestern University, Gloria holds both a Bachelor of Science in Speech and a Master of Science in Communication, with concentrated study in leadership and managerial communication.
